05.03.06 - Great Britain lifts visa regime for Croatia
After almost 7 years the United Kingdom visa regime for Croatia will be lifted on 22 March 2006. From 22.03.06 Croatian citizents travelling to Great Britain will not require a visa, but would have to obtain a visa if their sojourn exceeded six months. Transit visas are abolished also and visas are not required for Croats who want to study for up to 6 months in the United Kingdom either. Croatian citizens will still have to go through immigration control, as do all citizens whose countries are not European Union members, and if they intend to work in Great Britain they will have to obtain a work permit, the ambassador said. In previous 7 years, about 15,000 Croatian citizens applied for a British visa annually. hina.hr
