HOUSE CALLS - Enter a new experience in environmental theatre: House Calls at The Space.
The site-specific show House Calls is making its London debut at The Space on the Isle of Dogs. In this Presbyterian church-become-theatre, transformation and ritual become central themes for a show written specifically for this unique space, and for a cast of international actors.
House Calls, a production of La Spirale d'Or theatre company of Paris, tells the possible, though improbable, tales of The Space. Artistic director and playwright Shelly De Vito has written the walls' memories. Scripted scenes represent folds of time, safely housed behind a thin fourth wall. You move freely throughout the space for an absolutely singular experience. The decisions you make during the
evening create your own personal show. As you witness a marriage ceremony, you may catch a glimpse of a retired siren. You are free to follow her…Or to stay. You decide.
With an international cast of actors:
Nino Bantic, Frances Burt, Stephanie Campion, Sophie Clarke, Sean Connell, Lieve Carchon, Damian Corcoran, Laura D'Arista, Diane Dassigny, Sura Donhke, Orlando Duchamp, Laura Evelyn, Jack Fairweather, James Frecknall, Stéphanie Germonpré, Sanja Jankovic, Helen Jessica Liggat, Judy Martinez, Nilton Martins, Constanza Ruff, Vissey Safavi, Natasha Stanic, Frank Threapleton-Horrocks,
Genny Vascotto, Dolly West, David Whitford
La Spirale d'Or is a company of artists from around the world. The company is based in Paris, and has been producing shows in Europe and North America since its creation in 2005. The artistic director and founder is Shelly De Vito. Originally from New York and with a background in dance and directing, she has been writing and directing in Paris for several years. La Spirale d'Or refers to the
golden section, the perfect proportion found in the spiral of a nautilus shell. La Spirale d'Or seeks similar harmony in our collaborations and creations.
