CROATIA COMES TO THE RIVERSIDE STUDIOS
Closer Croatia, the film festival organised by the The Croatian Embassy in London and CSYPN (Croatian Students & Young Professionals Network) returns with a collection of features, documentaries and animation to the Riverside Studios from 11 to 14 October.
In 2004, Closer Croatia highlighted classic films from the last four decades alongside recent offerings. 2007 sees the latest films and shorts from the burgeoning Croatian film industry.
Many of the films have already been awarded prizes and recognition at major film festivals throughout the world, tackling issues and reflecting the cultural changes that have taken place in Croatia over the last decade.
His Excellency Joško Paro, Croatian Ambassador in London said: "I'm delighted the Croatian Embassy and CSYPN can bring such a strong collection of films and shorts to London. Audiences will see just why the most recent Croatian film are winning awards at major film festivals around the world."
Marko Krznarić, President of CSYPN, added: “People know about Croatia because of our sporting talent. But with the revival taking place in our film industry, I hope people will know about our country because of our directors, actors, documentary makers and animators.”
Closer Croatia runs from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 October at the Riverside Studios, Crisp Road, Hammersmith, London W6 9RL.

After a successful Croatian Film Festival in 2004, this time Closer Croatia comes to Riverside Studios with a selection of the most recently produced Croatian films.
For the first time the British public will be able to see films which have been awarded prizes and recognition at major film festivals throughout the world and which reflect changes in Croatian society during the last decade.
The famous Zagreb School of Animation has enjoyed a revival with a new generation of film makers and we are happy to present a small selection of recent animated films and some artists’ experimental films.
SHORTS: Please note that each main feature will be preceded by a short.
