Richard Albert

Richard has been a member of the Committee since February 2004.

He is currently Director of International Partnerships for American Express based in London and has been with Amex for 5 years.

Prior to that, he spent 10 years in the oil industry with Texaco in a variety of different roles, most of them developing new business in the markets of Central & Eastern Europe, including Croatia, where he briefly was General Manager.

He has been travelling to Croatia for 14 years, since meeting his Croatian wife Suzana in Dubrovnik in 1990. She is originally from the village of Dekanovec, near Cakovec in the northern county of Medjimurje.

They were married in 1992 and have a 4-year-old daughter, Vivien Adriana, who was born in London. Richard and his family spend summer holidays at their house on Hvar in Starigrad, which they bought 7 years ago. They also are in the process of relocating full-time from London to Zagreb.

Richard (40) was born and raised in Boston in the USA and holds a BS degree from Bryant University and an MBA from Boston College.
